As you are all aware by now, we made the decision to push all of our wedding plans back a year due to the COVID situation. We will be treating this new event as our wedding "after party"! On our original date, we had a beautiful family ceremony (with many of you joining on Zoom!), and had a lovely time celebrating our marriage. Now, we want to get the chance to party with all of our friends and family in person! We hope to see everyone there! We want to make sure that everyone not only has a blast, but also leaves safe and healthy. We would greatly appreciate anyone who is unvaccinated masking up while moving around inside the venue!
Born in Corpus Christi, Riley is a Texas native who grew up on TV, movies, video games, and baseball. Following elementary school, Riley and his family moved from Corpus to San Antonio where Riley attended Bradley Middle School, Churchill High School (where the couple met), and the University of Texas at San Antonio. Riley was a dorky, yet proud, member of both the Bradley and Churchill bands where he played both trombone and euphonium. At UTSA, Riley studied Cyber Security and Digital Forensics and is now a security program manager at Microsoft. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with Natalie, playing video games with his friends, and indoctrinating people into enjoying baseball as much as he does.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Natalie has always been an artist at heart. From the age of 2 she was in ballet classes and the age of 4 she was in piano lessons, both of which she has maintained a love for to this day (including still continuing piano lessons now). Natalie went through all of her schooling in San Antonio, starting at Huebner Elementary and ending at the University of Texas at San Antonio, where she studied Music and Business Administration. Now, you can find her making sure Wiliams Sonoma at La Cantera looks as gorgeous as it should. In her free time, she likes to spend time with Riley, build houses on The Sims, watch the same 5 shows ad infinitum, and cook.
Riley and Natalie met in high school band! While they had been in the same band at Churchill High School for a while, their first memory of each other is being in after-school symphonic orchestra together, while Riley passed the time by leaning over her shoulder and making jokes at the string players' expense.
Riley and Natalie went on their first date at the end of Natalie's last summer before college. They went to the movies to see Ant Man! Neither of them knew it was a date until halfway through the movie, when they found themselves holding hands.
On the five year anniversary of holding hands in front of the Statue of Liberty while on a trip to New York for the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Riley and Natalie took a walk to a local park down the street from their apartment. At a spot in the park where they always stop to rest, Riley pulled out the ring and proposed!
