We met like so many these days, with a dating app assist. After some clever word play involving Britney Spears song titles, I was able to convince Lauren to meet me for a cup of coffee. I wore my usual In-N-Out t-shirt and botched the goodbye, but miraculously she wanted to see me again. I was giddy. So I texted her immediately (at the number she provided). No response - for hours. She claims she was anxiously waiting for my text all day and complaining to her friend that I hadn't reached out. Turns out... she gave me the wrong number. Luckily she realized her mistake and provided the correct number. The original number I texted never responded either... rude. We were both surprised at our multiple mutual friends and being at CSU at the same time, wondering how we never crossed paths (...or did we)? I was impressed with her clout and kindness, and fell for her quickly, anticipating each moment I got with her. Apparently she felt the same way, and before long we spent every day together, sharing our favorite foods, places, and activities with each other. But, she lost a couple points when I realized she didn't actually like Budweiser, even though she cracked one open like it was her typical drink of choice on our second date (eye roll). 2 years later, our lives revolve around our ornery Viszla pup, Reba. We bought our 'forever' house in Lakewood and immediately gutted it so we can make it our own. 5 months later... still living in the basement as the remodel nears completion, we cannot wait to upgrade from our hot plate, microwave, and toaster and start the real fun!
