Tyler and I met in Bloomington, IL where I was finishing up my last semester of nursing school at Illinois State University. Tyler was born and raised in Bloomington, IL and was working at Joe's Pub. I got a job in January 2016 at Joe's Pub and Tyler was one of the first people I saw/met at Joe's...and I must say he was very easy on the eyes:) We had gone out together after work with coworkers on a couple of occasions and would casually talk during shifts at work, but we never hung out alone UNTIL one night after work, I bucked up the courage to ask him if he wanted to go play darts at a pool hall down the road. He agreed and there was an immediate connection. Four years later we are still playing darts and shooting pool together :) Tyler and I truly bring out the light in each other and I am so grateful for our paths crossing. Four years down and forever to go!
I get goosebumps when I think about this day:) Tyler planned date night this particular Thursday since I had worked Wednesday overnight and needed to sleep most of the day Thursday. I told him I did not really care what we did that night as long as he planned it. When I woke up Thursday evening around 1700, Tyler told me that he thought it would be fun to go to Civil Axe (where we have gone several times), bring a pizza and some beers, then come home and have a movie night. That sounded like the perfect, laid back date night I was looking forward to. Little did I know, he had another plan. We picked up our pizza, packed a cooler, and were on our way. We threw axes for about 45 minutes and then asked the instructor to take a video of us throwing (which we do every time). My axe did not stick, but Tyler hit a bullseye. He thought it was only fair since my axe did not stick, I should retrieve the axes. I picked up the axes, turned around, and saw the love of my life on one knee with a ring :) At first, I thought he was joking until I caught a glimpse of something very shiny. Of course, I said YES and shortly after, our friends and family walked through the door!! I had no idea!! He rented out the entire Civil Axe for the night and we drank champaigne and celebrated with our closest friends and family!
