We met playing drums together in high school band. I was his section leader and he would flirt with me to get on my good side. We were so young back then, and we didn't know what to expect out of our relationship, but we knew it was something special. We went through celebrations and trials all through high school and college. It was finally after 8 years of dating that he got the courage to ask me to marry him. How could I say no?! We have a love for each other like no other and we can't wait to see what the rest of life brings us!
He had been telling me the whole time that he was taking me somewhere to celebrate our 8th year dating anniversary. Inside, I had high hopes that he would propose soon, but I had no idea when it would be. He drove us to Arrington, TN to a vineyard and parked the car while he set up a picnic for the two of us. After parking the car, we both walked up together to our spot on the grass. He made chili with grilled cheese and had a whole set up of a blanket, dishes, and flowers. He thought of everything! He had even made a Spotify playlist of our favorite love songs to play during the picnic. Finally, he played the last song and had me stand up with him to dance. We swayed and hugged while enjoying the gorgeous view below us. He proceeded to tell me how much he loves me and how much I mean to him. We both started to tear up right as he got down on one knee to ask the question, "Will you marry me?" Of course, I said "YES!" There was a photographer and videographer there to capture every moment, and it couldn't have been a more perfect day!
