We met sophomore year at Edgewood High School in Madison, WI, back when seeing each other meant coordinating with our parents for rides and hoping someone was free to drive. Looking back, it’s funny how normal that felt at the time—finding any time to talk during at the end of a bench at high school basketball game, hanging out after school, and relying on our families to keep our “dates” alive before either of us had a license. After high school, we moved to the University of Nebraska together and spent two years figuring out college life side by side. Eventually our paths took us to different places, and we ended up doing long distance for a couple of years. It wasn’t always fun, but it taught us a lot about how much we meant to each other (and how many hours two people can spend on FaceTime). A few years later, Madison called us home again. We’ve been living here together for the last two years, settling into routines we love and building a life that feels very us. This includes adopting our puppy, Daryl, who has fully embraced his role as the center of our world. From high school sweethearts to navigating full time employment together, our story has taken us through a lot of chapters already. But the part we’re most excited about is the one we’re in now — building a life we love, side by side, and looking forward to everything still ahead of us.
