For guests flying in, Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK) is the island’s small and convenient airport, just a short drive from town and most accommodations. Seasonal direct flights are available from several major cities including Boston, New York, and Washington, D.C., making travel easy and efficient. Taxis, Ubers, and rental cars are readily available upon arrival—but during busy weekends, we recommend planning ahead for transportation.

Hy-Line (Fast Ferry)
If you’re looking to get to Nantucket quickly and comfortably, the Hy-Line high-speed ferry is a great choice. This passenger-only ferry departs from Hyannis and gets you to the island in just about an hour, with spacious seating, Wi-Fi, and beautiful views along the way. It’s ideal for guests not bringing a car and wanting to maximize their time on the island. Ferries fill up fast during peak season, so we recommend booking tickets in advance.

Steamship Authority (Slow Ferry)
For a scenic and relaxing arrival to the island, the Steamship Authority’s traditional ferry offers a classic way to travel to Nantucket. Departing from Hyannis, this car-and-passenger ferry takes about 2 hours and provides a smooth ride across Nantucket Sound with indoor seating, outdoor decks, and stunning ocean views along the way. It’s a great option for guests bringing a car or those who prefer a more leisurely journey to soak in the experience. Advance reservations are strongly recommended—especially during wedding season! This is the only way to bring your car to the island.
