Travel Note
For anyone driving up from Portland, this may be the best route to take. You have to make reservations on this ferry, which lets you get a guaranteed spot for the time you'd like to depart. From Olympia, you drive up on the Olympic Peninsula to Port Townsend and take the ferry to Whidbey from there. The Coupeville/Whidbey Island side of that ferry route is only about 20 minutes from the wedding venue.
Travel Note
This ferry leaves from just North of Seattle and does not take reservations. Summertime lines for the ferry are often long. With a normal/short wait at the ferry, it takes 2 to 2.5 hours to get from Seattle to Eckholm Farm, or 3 hours from SeaTac Airport. However, summertime ferry lines can easily add 1-2 hours, especially going to the island on Friday afternoon, or leaving the island on Sunday. Plan accordingly.
Travel Note
You can drive North from Seattle on I-5, through the lovely farmland around LaConner to Anacortes, and then drive down through Oak Harbor to the wedding venue. This route is more predictable because you don’t have to deal with the ferry, but it is more driving. Driving around takes 2 to 2.5 hours from Seattle to Eckholm Farm or 3 hours from SeaTac Airport, but may actually be faster than waiting for the boat if the line for the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry is too long.
House Or Rental
We will have limited space at Eckholm Farm for guests to tent camp or park a camper van/truck. We will have portable bathrooms available for the weekend, but not showers. If you are interested in camping at the farm, please let us know asap, and we will put you on that list.
House Or Rental
Fort Ebey State Park is very close by, with a campground with restrooms and showers. Reservations can be made on the Washington state parks website linked above.
Hotel
The Captain Whidbey Inn is on the water just 5 minutes from the wedding venue. It's is a lovely historic inn with hotel rooms, cabins, restaurant, and bar. Pricey, but memorable.
