Our story begins 5 years ago when we met for the first time at work on an ambulance. Freddy was an EMT on the day shift and I started my first paramedic job on his night half. We introduced ourselves, and I noticed immediately his sense of humor and smile. We became friends and would work with each other on a few occasions. After about one year, Freddy and I became partners and our friendship grew to be very close. I trusted him with my deepest secrets and insecurities and told him everything about me during our time as partners. He was and continues to be a shinning beam of happiness in a world that seems to be growing more dark and dismal. Freddy continued on to medic school and I would help him and his friends with studying and learning the job. This led us to grow even closer and we started talking everyday. It became obvious of both his and my infatuation because we would both smile each time we would get a message from each other. I still crack a smile when I see his name on my phone. After feelings were finally made public to each other we started dating. I fell in love harder than I ever have before and continued to find wonderful characteristics that made me fall even deeper. Through trying times in my life I knew he would be there to support me, and I started to rely on him. He welcomed me into his family with open arms and I felt like I was home. After a few years of being madly in love we took a family trip to Norway for a family wedding. On the last day of the trip, we all gathered outside to take a family photo and Freddy pulled me aside to take a picture of just us. After I half ruined the moment fighting him on where to stand, he gave up and got down on one knee. I grew silent as he spoke of how much he loved me and how he was ready to spend the rest of his life with me in front of my whole family. Although this is the end to this story, ours is just beginning. And I for one can’t wait to see how good of a story it is.
