We ask that you please wear semi-formal attire. May we suggest the following: For ladies, a cocktail-length dress or dressy separates. For gentlemen, a suit or button-down with slacks (tie-optional). **Please keep in mind the virtue of modesty when deciding your outfit. Emmaus Catholic Parish requests that women refrain from wearing strapless, spaghetti straps, low-cut, or bare back dresses without a jacket or shawl during the ceremony. Thank you!
Our ceremony begins at 2:00pm. Please be seated 10-20 minutes prior to the start of the ceremony and remain reverent inside the church. If you arrive late, please wait in the narthex (lobby) until ushered in. The wedding ceremony will be a full mass and last about one hour.
Please silence and keep all phones/cameras out of sight for the duration of the ceremony. We would like our guests to enjoy the moment with us and ensure phones are not blocking anyone's view or face in the professional pictures. For the reception, feel free to take photos/videos and please share them with us.
Ample parking is available at both Emmaus Catholic Parish and The Oasis. Be mindful that these are two separate locations, approximately 11 miles apart or an 18-minute drive. Please plan your transportation accordingly so that everyone arrives and gets home safely. Valet parking will be available at The Oasis for $10 per vehicle.
Children are an important part of families, however, we kindly ask that no small children attend the ceremony or reception. We can only accommodate the names listed on your family's invitation. Thank you in advance for understanding.
Welcome! We would love for all of our guests, regardless of denomination or faith, to be present at our wedding. We will not get married at the reception, so it is most important to us that you join us at Mass where we will become husband and wife! During the mass, you can expect scripture readings, a homily (sermon), and Holy Communion. One key difference between other Christian denominations is that Catholics believe Jesus is physically present during communion when bread is transubstantiated into the body of Jesus Christ, also called the Eucharist. If you’re not a practicing Catholic, during communion, Fr. Richard asks that you please remain in your pew. The priest will give everyone a blessing at the conclusion of Mass. We will provide a Catholic wedding program to help guests follow along with the ceremony.
