When should we plan to arrive?

Answer

We’ll be kicking off the celebration a little early with some optional activities on Thursday for anyone who would like to join. To take part, we recommend arriving by Wednesday evening. The wedding will take place on Saturday, August 22nd.

Is there a nearby airport?

Answer

Flying directly into Traverse City (TVC) is the most direct option. It is very common for flight prices to rise as summer approaches, so make sure to check early! When should I book my hotel or Airbnb?

Answer

We recommend booking as soon as possible! While there are multiple options in East Jordan and in nearby Ellsworth/Charlevoix, they may fill up due to Northern Michigan being a very popular summer vacation and wedding destination. More information about accommodations are located on the travel tab.

Where should I stay Up North?

Answer

East Jordan, Boyne City, or Charlevoix are all great places to stay and not too far from the venue.

Is renting a car recommended?

Answer

It is recommended to rent a car for the weekend because there is no public transportation and very few Ubers or Lyfts in the area.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Weather in Northern Michigan is a bit unpredictable, but generally you can expect temperatures in the 70s and 80s during the day and cooler evenings.

Appetizers will be served during cocktail hour. Dinner will be served after cocktail hour.

Where will the ceremony and reception be?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be held at The Boathouse on Lake Charlevoix.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony will be outdoors. During cocktail hour, drinks will be served both outside in the courtyard and inside. During the reception, guests will have the option to be indoors or outdoors.

What should I wear?

We recommend semi-formal attire!
