Our Story

May 28th, 2015

Andrea and Riley’s journey began in a tucked-away classroom used for Speech practice. On a quiet spring afternoon, Andrea (for the first time) realized that Riley had attended her high school AND was a part of her close friend group for the past three years. It was on this day that Riley told a joke—and although neither of them can remember the punchline—they can both remember how it felt to share a laugh. Andrea exclaimed: “Where have you been all my life!” From then on, she wouldn’t have to wonder. The pair told thousands more jokes over the next six years as they grew closer together. They conquered every early-life challenge and accomplishment side-by-side, from graduating high school to flying through college to adopting their first pets: Cooper and Eevee. Andrea and Riley have cherished memories across the country together whether it’s seeing their favorite band live (4 times!!), road tripping to St. Louis Missouri, flying to California and exploring Disneyland, or splashing into the wave pool at Andrea’s favorite childhood amusement park – Michigan’s Adventure. If you asked either of them what their favorite memory together is, you’d get a unique answer for every hour of the day; they truly are the best of friends.

The Proposal

March 28th, 2021

After six years together, they decided they wanted to take the next big step and get engaged! Andrea is too stubborn to be left in the dark, so they decided on a non-traditional double proposal. Andrea planned a scavenger hunt for Riley to puzzle through starting with a slideshow cataloging their relationship and ending at the famous Fargo Mario Wall. The photographer, Mel Noelle Photography, met them at the wall for Riley’s portion of the proposal: puzzle boxes for Andrea—that she accidentally figured out immediately! After Andrea completed the puzzle, she was reminded of their first text conversation: “BDUBS SPICY GARLIC NEVER AGAIN.” They both had a big laugh and asked each other for their hand in marriage. The rest of the day was spent taking engagement pictures in their favorite places all around downtown Fargo with their best fuzzy pal Cooper.

What's Next??

September 4th, 2021

For Andrea and Riley, marriage is their next milestone to celebrate together. They invite you to join them for the formal ceremony of bringing together two board game players, ice cream consumers, and old meme quoters. Come ceremony day, you will see two partners who have forged an unbreakable bond through the trials of life, but inside it’ll just be two dorks who laugh at each other’s bad jokes.
