McKayla and Lily met briefly when they were 6 and 7, and were reunited a few years later when Lily’s family decided to move churches. The girls were inseparable for so many years, many people thought they were sisters. Not only are they best friends, their parents are also very close friends, and so are Miriam and Laurel, their little sisters. Ryan, McKaylas dad, will be officiating the wedding.

They grew up together, although they live over two hours apart, but they always looked forward to holidays and birthdays so they could spend time together. Over the years, the relationship slowly changed from being family into being very close friends.
