We're getting married!

Fall of 2020, mid pandemic. Haley and Riley were both starting their freshman year at College of the Ozarks, the school where you work off your tuition. On athletic scholarships, they fell into the same work assignment: custodial. Hitting it off as custodial partners, there wasn't a toilet or mirror they didn't tackle. Sadly, they lost touch when Riley transferred to a different school but reconnected after Haley slid into his DMs, and the rest is history. Through school transfers, new jobs, long distance, getting engaged, Haley moving 180 miles to be closer to Riley, and everything in between, here we are, and it all started with Riley making moves with a toilet scrubber in hand.

Almost done doing long distance, Riley and Haley planned a trip to the lake for a fun Fouth-of-July weekend reunion trip with friends, Alexa, Olivia, and Miller. The week leading up, Tammy, Haley's mom, gave Haley some gentle encouragement to get her nails done for the trip! Haley's suspicion began there, because nail polish is not allowed at her job. Olivia and Alexa encouraging her to bring a cute outfit for pictures, this sent her into a slightly nervous panic. Nonetheless to the lake they went. Saturday night, all dressed up and full of dinner, Olivia and Alexa decided a walk would be a great idea. Haley ate a little too much dinner and didn't want to go on a walk in a dress. Riley strongly encouraged her to wear it, saying she looked beautiful, but in true Haley fashion she changed into the baggiest tshirt and comfy shorts she brought. She later regret it. What the couple thought would be a relaxing walk in the calm summer breeze was plagued with humidity, bugs, and the groups path was straight up hill. At the top of the hill, covered in sweat, they realized the walk to Alexa's spot was worth it. They had a perfect view through the trees of all the fireworks going off around the lake. Blissfully unaware, Haley stared up at the fireworks while Riley pulled the ring out of Miller's backpack. And he popped the question!! Tears and sweat covered the two as they made the walk back hand in hand. Haley had never regret an outfit change so much, she changed as soon as she was back at the lakehouse.
