So our story is definitely a unique one that started back in 2014. Andrew is my best friends cousin-in-law. My best friend Jen and her significant other Chris and myself all lived together at one point. Andrew came over the first time to visit his cousin and our first encounter wasn’t “love at first sight”, but the second time he came to visit, we all went to the state fair and that’s where we hit it off. We started dating long distance (he lived in TX at the time) for awhile but then we broke up shortly before the wedding of Jen & Chris…where I was the Maid of honor & Andrew ended up being best man (talk about awkward situation). We did eventually get past our differences and we were cordial with each other, almost every time he would visit Oklahoma, we would all hang out at Jen & Chris’s house. It never failed though, every-time we would hang out, the feelings would creep back and everybody could always tell there was a spark there (even though we’d deny it or we were in other relationships and respected boundaries). Eventually as 2022 was nearing an end- Andrew came to visit again and I got a text at 530am while at the gym saying “am I gonna get to see you” to which I had said it was up to my best friend & her husband (to which they were ok with, I think, they had a role in this). They didn’t care & we all hung out and pretty much forced Andrew to watch the first Harry Potter film (he’s welcome) and since then, we were inseparable (well kinda). We started dating long distance and after many moving wheels and challenges, I found myself moving to up to MN to be with him. Right before I moved to MN we all went to the Hoffman family reunion trip and when we went on an adventure one day to Ephraim to climb Eagle tower, Andrew purposed and I said “duh!”.
