It all started one evening on the 13th of August 2022, at the Tu b'av Party, also known as the White Party – our own little slice of Jewish Valentine's magic. David, with spontaneity in his heart, caught a last-minute flight from California, while Rikki, nudged by her family, decided to attend the party. Little did we know, the universe had something extraordinary in store for us that night. As fate would have it, David approached Rikki with a remark that would set the stage for our love story: "Hey, you look like Stephi (Rikki's twin sister), but you aren't Stephi." That simple sentence ignited a conversation that lasted for an hour, weaving the threads of connection between us. After parting ways, the night wasn't done with surprises. In a chivalrous gesture, David found Rikki once again and walked her to her car, even though she was already in the company of friends. Our journey continued the very next day, we embarked on our first date to White Rock Lake. Amidst laughter, conversation, and an undeniable connection, time seemed to slip away effortlessly. David, who rarely found himself running late, was even delayed for a pickleball game – a testament to the magic unfolding. Our second date, a spontaneous rendezvous at a coffee shop, marked a pivotal moment. It was there that Rikki “accidentally” dropped the "L" word, a revelation that she sensed what lay ahead for us long before David did. From that point onward, our story unfolded with countless beautiful moments, each one solidifying the bond between us. Yet, the pinnacle of our love story arrived on October 14th, 2023. Returning to the very spot where our journey began at White Rock Lake, David, with love in his eyes, dropped to one knee and proposed, embracing the promise of forever, etching another chapter in our extraordinary love story.
