It was my junior year and his senior year of high school. We were both on the track team. We flirted, with my catch phrase to him being "keep dreaming". For a few months, we joked and talked, until one day, we just clicked. It's been almost 9 years since "keep dreaming" was first expressed.

We had been wanting to go to NYC for a few years around the holidays just for the experience. I had never seen the tree in Rockefeller Center and it was on my bucket list. Tom finally decided we were going in 2018. We made an entire day out of it and it was the best day ever. From starting at Macy's, to walking to the American Museum of Natural History, to walking back to Rockefeller Center and seeing the tree, all the way to going up to the top of the Empire State Building. It was dark when we went up to the top of the Empire State Building, and very windy. We went outside, and Tom had tricked me into having a couple of ladies "take our photo". It turned out that when he told them "how to use my phone", it was actually for them to take a video and when I turned around from looking out over the city, he was on one knee and asked the question I never thought I'd hear. That was one of the best days.
