Sugarloaf Mountain

Located about 6 miles north of downtown Marquette, Sugarloaf is a must do hike while you are in town! It takes about 20 minutes to get to the top where you will find an amazing view of Lake Superior. You can find Sugarloaf by driving towards Big Bay from Marquette on CR-550. After about 4 miles, Sugaloaf will be clearly marked by signage on the right-hand side of the road.

McCarty's Cove

McCarty's Cove is a great place for a beach day! It's conveniently located and another must-do while you're in town. Here you can enjoy Lake Superior, sun bathing, sand castles, and beach volleyball.

Presque Isle Park

Enjoy a beautiful sunset at Sunset Point, an ice cream cone, or Blackrocks cliff jumping in Presque Isle Park! This is also a great place to bike or hike around.

Northwoods Canoe and Kayak Rentals on the AuTrain River

Paddle the Autrain River! Bring your own kayaks and canoes, or rent from Northwoods Resort! Paddle along or take a leisurely float, this trip typically takes 3 hours. There are many places to take a break and swim along the riverbank.

Mount Marquette Road

Drive right up to the top of Mount Marquette for a view of the town and Lake Superior, no hiking required! Highly recommend doing this for a sunrise or sunset view.
