Sometimes, love begins not with fireworks, but with quiet moments—familiar faces, simple greetings, and the patience of time. We first crossed paths during our university days. Ridwan was the treasurer of the madrasah I attended, a calm and respected final-year student. I was just a freshman, quietly finding my place. Our interactions were limited—just a few taslims exchanged with grace and distance. He later told me he noticed me then but chose to remain silent, not wanting to be a distraction to my journey. Seven years passed. In August, Ridwan sent me a birthday message on LinkedIn—which I missed. Then in December, he reached out again, this time congratulating me on my admission into the University of Lagos. That one message opened a door. We moved from “Have we met before?” to “Let’s continue this on WhatsApp,” and suddenly, it all felt divinely orchestrated. We discovered we had so much in common. We're from the same hometown. We share values, principles, and even the same name — Ayomide. He is everything I’ve ever wanted in a man: sincere, thoughtful, God-conscious, and calm in the most reassuring way. It’s almost as if Allah had written us in the same line — just not on the same page yet. What started as a simple reconnection became something much deeper. Through sincere intentions, prayer, and mutual understanding, we found in each other the tranquility Allah speaks of in Surah Ar-Rum (30:21): “And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy…” And now, by Allah’s will, we are preparing to begin our forever.
