We're getting married!

Joshua left early, and did not get to pick a seat on the marching band bus. Abigail wanted to sit by her self. Unfortunately for her, Josh was assigned to her seat and was stuck with him for the rest of the season. Josh was the one who started the conversation. Abby was playing her Final Fantasy game and Josh was curious about it. Abby shared some of her music with Josh. The first song was "God Only Knows" by For King & Country. At the time Josh's only taste in music was Imagine Dragons but as he listened to more of what Abby shared, his horizons expanded. After that season ended, and the next came, they continued to sit together every year until Abby graduated.

Back in the beginning of September 2023 Joshua went to ask Abigail's dad for his blessing in marrying his first born daughter. Josh was quite afraid to ask, but he mustered up some spirit. Abby's dad at first had a few requirements, but after he thought about it, he saw how happy his daughter was whenever Joshua was with her and the joy he brought to her. At that point he gave Josh permission, and then Josh went to search for the perfect ring. Josh searched and searched for many days before he finally found the right one. After he made the purchase, he had the hardest time keeping the secret from Abby because he hated keeping any secrets from her. But Josh managed, and he came up with the place he was gonna propose: Chimney Rock along the Appalachian Trail. The date he chose was close to their 10 month anniversary of dating. So Josh got a picture box and put the anniversary gift in it to keep her off the scent of the incoming proposal. Abigail's dad had the ring in his hiking backpack hidden away and he kept it secret and kept it safe. On that morning, October 15th, 2023, they went hiking with Abby's family. It was a great day to go hiking and the perfect weather for a proposal. They climbed out onto the rocks, though Joshua had a hard time getting Abby out there. The night before, they had watched a movie about two girls who climbed a tower and got stuck. But eventually Josh got Abby out and proposed. And well you guessed it, because here we are, she said "YES!"
