The wedding takes place at The Groton Inn in Groton MA, Saturday, May 16th 2026. Please arrive between 4:00-4:15pm to get seated. Ceremony starts at 4:30pm.
We are taking off work the week following the wedding to spend time with friends and family, and just enjoy our newlywed life for a bit before we go back to the office. Feel free to let us know if you will be staying in Watertown or Boston the week after the wedding, as we are hoping to plan some events around the area.
The ride is roughly an hour if you choose to rent a car. We suggest either renting a car or carpooling with wedding guests as some of you know one another. There is free parking at the Inn. Public transportation is available but it will not get you all the way to Groton. You would need a ride share (ie Uber, Lyft, etc)
We have decided on a cash bar, so alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase!
Weather in May in New England varies but we're hoping for sunny weather in the 60's. The ceremony will take place outside in The Groton Inn courtyard in front of the fireplace. The cocktail hour will also take place outside at the end of the courtyard, where our wedding musicians will play and appetizers will be served. Guests will also have access to an inside room called The Keep, as well as the covered front porch, during cocktail hour. The reception will take place indoors in The Prescott Room, where dinner and dancing will occur.
We have invited 67 people, and hope to see you all there!
Yes, we've invited 6 kids (Marin, Asher, Charlotte, Griffin, Jules, Amy). Their names will be listed when we send out RSVPs for attendance, so make sure to select if they are coming.
Cocktail attire or dressy casual is recommended. Dress to impress but feel comfortable. For women this could include dresses, jumpsuits, or dressy separates like a skirt or dress pants and blouse. For men this could include suit, or a blazer and dress pants. Please avoid colors traditionally associated with the bride (ivory, whites, and creams).
For the ceremony, front row is reserved for immediate family otherwise sit wherever you like! For the reception we will have assigned seating via placards at tables.
The day we get married, we will be 3 years, 4 months, and 3 days, or 1219 days to save you the math!
We met at a bar called Hinge and had our first date at Liberty Tavern in Quincy, MA. ps. this is the sense of humor Rick used to win over Leah
Leah will not be changing her name! Rick has actually decided to take her last name and we will be the Cardwells! Hence the reason for our wedding slogan; It's In The Cards!
