We first met at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. It was a Wednesday night in the spring of 2009 at the Gin & Tectonics party thrown by the Geology Club (of which neither of us were members, but clearly crashing for the sub-par cocktails). We hadn't crossed paths before, but Julia remembers spotting a tall, skinny blonde guy in a giant Carhartt jacket passing through the Film Studies building. It wasn't until the summer of 2010 in New York City when we realized this was something special. It was a summer when we truly became good friends. Late nights were spent drinking cheap beer on St. Marks and scribbling ideas for Julia's Thesis Film on cocktail napkins; watching World Cup Soccer in the East Village and escaping to Madison, Connecticut and Weekapaug, Rhode Island with college friends. It was over these few months, and while working on Julia's thesis film during our senior year, that we realized things were better together. Now, after almost 10 years, many cross-country adventures, culinary school, business school, early morning flights to Buffalo, late-night bus rides to Hanover and a move to Denver, we're finally tying the knot!
