An Update On Our Wedding

The health and safety of our family and friends is most important to us. In light of the public health situation, we remain hopeful that we can host our immediate families and wedding parties at our intimate wedding in November. We will be monitoring the situation over the coming months and should our plans change we will notify you promptly. We look forward to celebrating with the rest of our family and friends some time in 2021!

How We Met

It all started with a story about sharks - 12/2/11

A recent transfer to NYU, Dani found herself at an apartment party chatting with a friend of Ricky’s (now a dear friend to them both). When Ricky was called over to answer a question, they immediately started talking about California, where Dani is from, and their love of EDM and music festivals (oh how far they’ve come) before the conversation shifted toward sharks. For those who know Dani well, it’s no surprise that a conversation about sharks, her favorite animal, would rope her in. After Ricky shared his story about cage diving with great white sharks in South Africa, the rest was history.

The Engagement

11/3/2018

Two days into their Australian adventure and finally having had a full night's rest, Dani and Ricky woke up bright and early and headed out for on an impromptu sunrise walk through Sydney's Royal Botanic Garden. One of their favorite things to do is an early morning walk before the rest of the world wakes up, especially while traveling. After finding a bench overlooking the harbor and Sydney Opera House, they sat for a moment to take in the view (or so Dani thought). With Dani distracted during a quick kiss, Ricky reached for the ring in his pocket and asked his best friend if she would spend the rest of her life with him. Clad in workout attire, no makeup, and glasses fogged up with tears, it was an easy "yes"!
