Though Rick + Allison had known each other for years and had always had a strong respect and admiration for one another, it wasn't until October 2023, when their friend group attended a "Johnnyswim" concert together, that their friend Bette Bradford saw a connection between the two. As time past and the friend group got together more frequently, Bette couldn't ignore the undeniable chemistry any longer, and she posed the question to Allison during a girls lunch. Allison was surprised to discover that she liked Rick, and that her first infatuation had evolved into something more. Once Rick heard of what Allison had shared at the 'sacred girls lunch', he was delighted and surprised but decided to play it cool as he dove deeper into getting to know her. Rick started asking Allison to go out on one-on-one things like coffee dates, a quick stroll in the park, or just to grab drinks. The more time they spent together the harder it was to ignore that what began as admiration had grown into something so much more. After a couple of weeks of spending time together and a family dinner with their boys, Rick asked the question that has since become their relationship's catchphrase: "what if we did?..." That catchphrase was used when they told each other that they loved one another, as well as many other things. When Rick proposed to Allison on August 9, 2024 he had the same phrase engraved on the box that held Allison's engagement ring. Their favorite thing by far has been watching their boys become brothers. Allison's son, Carter, has enjoyed gaining two big brothers and Rick's son's, Lucas and Isaac, have welcomed him into the fold with so much kindness. Though this is only the beginning of their relationship and the blending of their family, they are so excited for the rest of their story to unfold!
