Our Story

Leah and Brett first met in 2017 after being introduced by Brett's brother, Eric. At the time Leah was still in school for Couples and Family Therapy and Brett was newly working as a legal assistant after having made a move from Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Although they came from different backgrounds, they immediately bonded over a similar sense of humor. Over time, they came to realize that they had more things in common than they thought at first. Things such as weekend trips across the midwest, kayaking, hiking, cooking (a newly discovered hobby), and a love of animals (especially birds and dogs). They even hand-raised four baby birds. After surviving two months of quarantine and coming out of it even closer than ever, engagement seemed a foregone conclusion. Sure enough, it was. They were engaged underneath a meteor shower during a dessert picnic in their backyard, witnessed by their dog Stella.
