Our StoryOur Story

First comes middle school, then comes marriage…. Drew and Richelle met in the eighth grade at North Tonawanda Middle School, but it wasn’t until high school that their friendship truly blossomed- two kids thrown together by the randomness of assigned seating in Mrs. Widman’s computer class. At first, they were just classmates, but over the years, their friendship grew. They hung out with mutual friends, shared secrets about their dreams, and supported each other through the awkwardness of adolescence. Their bond was undeniable, getting paired together during their school’s spirit week prep rally (every football player would be paired with a cheerleader, and each would give the other a gift). Drew hoped that they would one day be more than friends, but the timing was never quite right. When Drew enlisted in the Air Force after graduation, they promised to stay in touch, though neither knew what the future would hold. For years, they kept in contact through Snapchat and text. Drew would make it a point to always visit Richelle and her parents when he was home. When Drew finally moved back home for good, something was different. The second they locked eyes, all those years of "what ifs" disappeared. They spent months making up for lost time—late-night drives, long walks, and endless conversations about everything and nothing. One evening, while in a canoe on Conesus Lake, Drew finally asked Richelle to be his girlfriend. And from that moment on, they were inseparable….. A few years later, Drew knew it was time. He wanted to give Richelle the proposal she deserved, something magical. With the help of their family and friends, he planned the perfect night. Drew met Richelle after work and took her out for happy hour. He specifically chose “Shamus,” the destination where Richelle’s parents had one of their first dates. Afterwards, they made their way to Richelle’s parents house, a place they had shared so many memories. Once they arrived, Richelle found a path lined with rose petals leading her forward. Her heart pounded as she followed the trail, the petals gathering into the shape of a heart. Glowing candles and balloons decorated the space, the scent of flowers was in the air, and soft music played in the background. At the end of the path there was a little puppy waiting, a miniature dachshund named “Brûlée.” Their loved ones surrounded them, smiling, whispering, and holding back tears. Drew took a deep breath, dropping to one knee and asked Richelle to marry him. Richelle was overcome with emotion and mumbled “yes,” barely able to speak. With love in the air, Richelle threw her arms around him, the puppy wagging his tale in excitement at their feet. And of course, their cat Tux was there, purring in the background :) In that moment, surrounded by family, friends, and a lifetime of memories, they knew—this was the love story they were always meant to have. To our guests, we wanted to give you a little glimpse into our lives. We can’t wait for you to celebrate with us and the add many more chapters to our love story!
