Some love stories begin with a grand gesture. Ours began with a dog appointment. In 2023, Payton and Jake first crossed paths when Payton treated Jake’s dog, Nalah at her work. After that brief encounter, life carried on — until nearly a year later, when the two unexpectedly matched on Hinge. Their first date was on July 17, 2024, and by the end of the night, Payton texted her mom, “I just met my future husband.” Jake, determined to keep her waiting just a little longer, finally made things official on October 22nd. Two weeks later, they moved in together, quickly building a life full of laughter, love, and complete chaos in the very best way. On March 31st, they found out they were expecting their greatest adventure yet. Their son was born on December 1, 2025, changing their world forever and for the better. Then, on March 16, 2026, at sunset on the Oregon Coast, Jake asked Payton to marry him. Saying "out of all the decisions I've made in my life waking up next to you everyday is my favorite" 1 son, 3 dogs and 3 cats later this is only beginning of their story together.
