It’s a story about how a bold California boy won the heart of a reserved Mississippi girl, despite her resolve to live happily alone forever - with her cat, Mooch. They met in 2019, working for Enterprise Rent-a-Car. She’d been living in Eugene for about a year before he moved up from Medford. He was pretty quick to ask her to hang out, but she was even quicker to make excuses. Eventually, though, she figured a night out might actually be good for her…so they went bowling at a place called Lane 25 - and she had a really good time winning! After that night, they just started spending time together more often: trying new restaurants, watching movies, going for hikes, exploring the Oregon coast; Just doing the things that any friends do, really. It didn’t take long for them to realize there was a deeper connection than just friends, though. But it all seemed to progress naturally. So naturally, in fact, that they couldn’t even tell you when things became “official” - aside from the day he proposed during a one-horse open sleigh ride through the snowy mountains of Palmer, Alaska! She was drawn to his adventurous spirit and passion for life. He was drawn, at first, to her beauty then captivated by her intensity and his desire to win her over. He had a way of making her feel alive and confident outside of her typical comfort zone (mainly at home, in sweats). And she had a way of helping him feel calm and appreciated no matter what came. Together they’ve learned that balance is when one’s strength compliments another’s weakness, that beautiful things come from compromise, and that there’s still so much to learn from each other that they want to spend the rest of their lives doing just that. Together. Forever. They are beyond excited to have taken the next step in their relationship, with God at the center for guidance and family and friends by their side for support. Thank you for being a part of their journey.
