Our Story

Husbands are found on Hinge

How We Met We met the old fashioned way - the dating app, Hinge. Alex is the one that “liked” Shannon first. One of Shannon’s prompts on her profile was, “What’s a guilty pleasure song of yours that you don’t want your boys to know about?” To which Alex replied “Dancing Queen - Abba.” Shannon knew right then and there that she had to match and have a conversation with him. Our First Date Our first date was a couple weeks later. We were originally supposed to meet at Peddler’s in Clifton Park. However, when the day came, the Uber to Peddler’s from Saratoga was $50! Alex, being the gentleman he is, drove up to Saratoga after working until 10PM in Troy. They met at Bourbon Room and continued the date at Lucy’s Bar. We're Official A week later, 7/1/2023, Alex made it official and asked Shannon to be his girlfriend. After just two months of dating, Alex moved from Troy up to Saratoga to be closer to Shannon. Fast forward to Spring 2024, and we began living together. This also meant that Echo and FeeBee were now sisters! The Proposal Thursday, 11/21/2024: The night of our engagement, Shannon got home at 6:30PM from the gym and immediately started cooking. At 6:35(ish) Alex called and asked to go to dinner - he was really craving Cantina tacos. Shannon insisted that we save money (as we were saving for a house) and not go out to dinner, plus she had already started cooking. Alex was able to convince her to grab a cocktail downtown, however. It was pouring rain but we made the dash to downtown and went to Lucy’s, where part of our first date was. When we first got there, Shannon was reading the drink menu and Alex wouldn’t stop laughing and Shannon couldn’t figure out why. Turns out that when he was pointing to drinks, he had the bright red ring box in his hands and Shannon completely missed it. We went to the bar and waited for our drinks and then Alex pulled out the box. He said Shannon could look, and Shannon thought it was a joke and that it would be earrings or something along those lines. Nope - it was THE ring! Alex asked Shannon to marry him to which Shannon enthusiastically said yes! The rest, as they say, is history! Now We recently purchased our home in Latham, NY and are enjoying being first time homeowners and planning our wedding!
