Richard and Trishia met through a mutual friend and started out as just friends—no sparks, no drama, no love at first sight. Just two people who somehow became best friends without realizing they were slowly ruining their chances of ever dating anyone else. Things stayed safely in the friend zone… until Trishia went away on vacation for a month. Apparently, absence reallydoes make the heart grow fonder. Between long conversations and realizing they missed each other way more than expected, it finally clicked: this was love. On April 18, 2018, they made it official—and have been annoying each other ever since. Over the next seven years, their relationship grew through life, laughter, and one very important third party: Comet. Trishia’s dog wasted absolutely no time choosing Richard as his favorite human. Trishia now openly admits that Comet loving Richard more than her may be the real reason Richard stuck around this long… and honestly, she’s made peace with it. In 2024, Richard and Trishia traveled to Italy for the first time and fell completely in love with Florence—the food, the views, the romance. Naturally, they said, “We’re definitely coming back.” What they didn’t know was that Italy was quietly preparing to change their lives. Before that return trip, Richard and Trishia were baptized, taking a meaningful step in their faith together. As their relationship with God grew deeper, so did their relationship with each other—more intentional, more grounded, and still full of laughter (because some things never change). Then came Italy, round two. On September 5, 2025, at the stunning Villa del Balbianello in Lake Como, Richard proposed. He claims that the moment he saw the villa while planning their itinerary, he just knew this was the spot. Thankfully, Trishia agreed—and said yes. From friends to best friends, from faith to forever—with God at the center, Comet running the household, and Italy forever holding a special place in their hearts—Richard and Trishia are ready for their next adventure and can’t wait to celebrate with the people they love most.
