FAQs

Question

When is the RSVP Deadline?

Answer

July 1, 2024

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Check your RSVP for your +1!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we love your kids, they are not included in the meet and greet or the wedding celebration. Please reach out if you have questions!

Question

Where should I park?

Answer

There is some free parking around the area of the meet and greet (street, small lot next door, and neighborhood behind the bar) and a big lot that is pay by the hour about 1 block away. There is plenty of free parking at the wedding celebration venue, but it is located off to the side of a dirt/gravel road, and we recommend wearing shoes that can handle walking on grass.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The attire for the meet and greet is casual. Our dress code for the wedding celebration is cocktail.

Question

Are there any colors that guests should avoid wearing?

Answer

White, as well as champagne, off-white, cream...you get it.

Question

Will food and drink be served?

Answer

The meet and greet will have a variety of appetizer type of foods for people to enjoy as they drop by to mingle! This will be buffet style. Gene's has a full bar and we will have a tab open for our guests from 4-7pm. The wedding celebration will be catered by one of our favorite local BBQ spots, Home Team. We are not having a traditional sit-down dinner, and the food will be served buffet style. We will have a variety of meats, some sides, and a salad. You won't leave hungry! We will also have a bar with beer, wine and NA beverages.

Question

What is the weather like in Charleston?

Answer

Generally, the weather is beautiful in Charleston during the month of October! Temperatures average between a low of 55-high of 78. October is still hurricane season, so we will be watching the weather closely leading up to the event! We recommend checking your weather apps before packing in case abnormalities in average temperatures are expected. The wedding venue is primarily outdoor with a small indoor space where food will be. Most of the action will be outside, so please dress accordingly. There is gravel leading up to the venue, then primarily grass. Wear comfortable shoes. Weather permitting, we will have an outdoor fire pit going! We would also recommend a light sweater or jacket for when the sun goes down.

Question

What can we expect at the wedding celebration?

Answer

Come prepared to have a good time and celebrate with the bride and groom! We will have a local blue grass band playing live music throughout the evening! There will be a very brief ceremony at 4:30pm, held outside behind the barn. Then, we will get the party started! Games will be spread out throughout the venue, such as corn-hole and washers. We will also have polaroid cameras available for guests to help us capture fun memories to put on a picture board, or take home for a photo souvenir!
