We opted not to have one since we don't really want any specific items, but cash gifts are welcome and greatly appreciated, which will go towards our honeymoon in the Maritimes!
We love your kids; however, this is much a party as it is a wedding and we have limited space in our backyard plus a pool, so we have opted for an adult-only celebration. Thanks for understanding!
20 minutes or so before so that you can get seated. Earlier is fine too.
The Vanscoy Hotel is only 10 minutes away, so easy reach for the Delisle Firefighter Safe Ride to get your vehicles back to after a few beers. Small town bar/hotel. Known to have good food, nice rooms at a reasonable price. They have 12 rooms, 4 are double rooms. Rates are $100 single $120 double, so book soon as possible. Best Western Blairmore in Saskatoon This is the closest big hotel from Delisle. 20 minutes down the double lane Highway 7. Delisle Safe Ride will be dropping guests off here, but if you choose somewhere else it's easy to get an Uber/taxi from here, which are not available from Delisle unfortunately. Just call and mention the Casement wedding. It should be discounted at $150 plus tax a night. Rooms are held until June 26, and after that they may no longer be available and will be at the regular rate. The Delisle Hotel/Bar is only a couple blocks from us, and only charges $60 (taxes included) for a night if you say that it's for the Casement wedding. They only have nine rooms and definitely won't be fancy, but it's cheap and a close place to stumble to and crash. They also serve some pretty good food!
We have booked the Delisle Firefighter Safe Ride program. We are paying them a base fee to do this, but tips to the drivers are highly encouraged and will 100% go to the Delisle Fire Department. Volunteers will drive your vehicle to Saskatoon or other nearby locations so you don't have to pick up your vehicle the next day! Some of their rules are: - 10:00 pm - 2:30 am with the last ride promptly at 2:30 am. - The volunteers will always work in pairs with one volunteer driving the owner’s vehicle and the second driving their personal vehicle. - At no time will a volunteer use their personal vehicle to give a ride. - They will not offer rides to people without vehicles. - Please keep in mind they may sometimes be quite busy with rides and there may be a short wait.
Ample parking will be available at the Harold Worth Park, half a block NW of our house. There are big parking lots by the ball diamonds in the park, then just a quick walk to our backyard where the action is!
This is a small backyard wedding so we can only accommodate the people on your invitation.
There will be a good variety of foods, including vegetarian option, but if you do have an allergy/dietary restriction, please let us know and we'll try our best to accommodate.
Semi-formal for the ceremony and reception, but casual for the party/dance and feel free to bring swimwear/towels for the heated pool/hot tub (highly encouraged)! Hopefully it turns into a late night pool party!
There is a campsite in Delisle. It's actually pretty nice for RVs or tents. It's free to use but isn't serviced so you'll have to rough it a bit or use a generator. It's about 500 metres away from our place so not much of a walk. Shoot us a message for more details. There is also a nice serviced campsite at Pike Lake, but that's about a 20 minute drive. Once it gets late, those that are into "roughing it" a bit more are welcome to pop up a tent in our yard.
We'll have full keg(s) of local easy drinking beer and a caesar bar (or just vodka if you don't like caesars) ready to share with anyone that wants, otherwise BYOB. The Delisle Esso has a good selection of alcohol and cold beer so that's handy and they are open until 10 PM.
We have a 16' x 32' heated pool with a light. It's a lot of fun to drink in. We also have a 7-person hot tub. It might turn into a pool party at some point if people want, so don't be afraid to bring some swimwear and towels! Feel free to bring pool toys, floaties, and games as well. The more the merrier!
Ceremony will likely end around 2:30, cocktails at 5:30, and supper at 6:00 at the hall. While we're away taking photos, feel free to jump in the pool, drink some keg beer/caesars, check out Delisle Bar, Melrose Bakery (they have THE BEST donuts and all kinds of homebaked goods) and Creekside Antiques Shop for some shopping and also baked treats, go hammer out 9 holes at the Delisle Valleyview Golf Course (everyone says it's nice), or just relax in our yard. It's got lots of flowers. The edge of Saskatoon is just a 20-minute drive away as well. Valley Road (762 from Vanscoy to Saskatoon) is scenic and has a bunch of neat places to see as well and isn't too far, with Berry Barn and Black Fox Distillery along it. Pike Lake is also fairly close.
Cross your fingers it doesn't...we sure will be. The only positive of the drought we've been in is that July is typically hot and dry...knock on wood. We'll have a big party tent in the backyard to help, and garages, and the house and such if it's going to rain a bit. If a torrential downpour/heavy winds/tornado is in the forecast, we'll move the party and dance to the hall. We'll be in touch if it's looking wild and watching the forecast anxiously.
Please feel free to reach out to us!
