Richard and Paris first laid eyes on each other at the West Hollywood Best Buy. She worked for Samsung at the time and he worked for Best Buy in the mobile department. Richard constantly kept coming over to Paris making small talk while Paris played hard to get. After several days of this cat and mouse game, Richard finally asked Paris what she liked to do when she wasn't working. Paris replied how she would go hiking at Runyon Canyon every chance she could get. Richard exclaimed that he loved hiking and they should go together one day. They set a date and went to Runyon Canyon. After doing the "Commando side", the hardest side, Richard starts to walk towards the car and Paris starts to walk back down the mountain to hike the other side, stating "we're only halfway done, where are you going?" Richard continues to walk with Paris down the mountain to hike back up the other side. After the hike was finished, Richard finally confesses that he's never hiked before and he has asthma. Paris was flattered that Richard risked his life just trying to get to know her. Little did Richard know that on that mountain Paris would fall in love.

Richard and Paris planned to go to Italy with friends for Murphy's birthday, however this was about to be the setting of an icy proposal. Paris knew something funny was going on because at breakfast Richard mentioned for she and her girlfriends to get dressed and put makeup on, etc. This was strange because Paris and her friends never wear makeup unless for an important occasion. At that moment, Paris' 'wheels were turning'. Every site-seeing activity she kept reapplying her lipstick, checking her hair, made sure she ate pretty and didn't grub like she normally did, etc. The night was ending and it didn't happen. The original plan for the evening was for the group to go to a bar called Ice Club Rome. This bar was fully made of ice. We paid to get in and they put these huge blue 'choir robe looking' parkas on us to keep us warm. Inside the bar, Paris was busy taking pictures with friends when she turns around to find Richard down on one knee (with ripped jeans on- so you know that's love). Paris has never been so surprised in her life. She doesn't remember much of what was said through all her shock but she does remember her king telling his queen "Let me add some ice to your hand in this ice bar"...and she said YES!
