What is the best way to get to the island?

Should we bring a car?

Answer

Having a car on the island is definitely helpful, but not required! If you want to bring your car, you have to make a ferry reservation through the Steamship Authority. Car reservations can be difficult to get, so suggest booking as soon as 2027 reservations open in January. If you are unable to bring a car over, there are multiple rental car options on-island, including Turo, and transportation will be provided to and from Edgartown and Hart Haven for the ceremony and reception. If you are staying in a different town, Uber/Lyfts and taxis are also available.

Is there a dress code?

The dress code for Saturday is formal attire - Suits for the guys, and long or cocktail dresses for the ladies. The venue is outside, so we suggest wearing grass-friendly shoes!

Where should I stay?

Answer

There are a bunch of different hotel options across the island, as well as Airbnbs/VRBOs, but we suggest finding accommodations in Edgartown for transportation purposes. Shuttles from the reception will not be provided to any of the other towns, so if you choose to stay elsewhere you will be responsible for your own transportation!
