Jen and Rich met during the Summer of 2011, where they were Camp counselors at the Marvins division for special needs children at the JCC summer camp. Jen went to the JCC summer camp since she was 3 years old and this was Riches first summer there as Riches friend (and groomsman) Mark was the director of the program and recruited Rich to work there. Jen and Rich became fast friends bonding over both being students at SUNY Oneonta. As the summer days and nights went by, Jen and Rich realized they had romantic feelings for each other. On Jen and Rich went on their first date they went to La Strada and then walked on the South Beach Boardwalk where they will be getting married 9 years later!

Every year, the week before Christmas, Riches family gathers together for cookie baking day. On December 16,2018, Riches family continued their tradition. After making some cookies, Rich surprised his family (and Jen) and proposed. Rich also invited Jen’s best friends to witness their proposal.
