Richard started volunteering in the AV section of the church and began working closely with the praise team. Erin had been singing on the praise team for some time. The first time Richard heard her sing it sent chills down his body. It was not until later, while on the mountain, that while in a room full of people; God removed everyone from Richard's sight but Erin. Richard knew then that she was the one God had meant for him and there was no turning back.

Richard took Erin for a walk in her neighborhood, a walk they had taken many times before. While on this walk they began to talk about their day. They walked to the front of Erin's neighborhood where there was a gazebo overlooking the neighborhood pond. Richard and Erin continued to discuss multiple topics. Then Richard stood in front of her and his tone turned serious and nervous. He told her how much he loved her and how much she meant to him. Then he proceeded to get down on one knee. Erin at first thought he was joking and asked "are you serious?" When he pulled the ring out of his pocket, she got her answer and so did he :-)
