We met online and chatted there and over the phone for days. As we talked and laughed, ALOT, about all sorts of things, we discovered that we both really like Snuffer's cheese fries (who doesn't?). So on December 23rd, 2018 we had our first date at Snuffer's in Addison. We shared our first order of cheese fries and the rest is history!
We had lunch that day and Richard was insistent that after work we visit Stone Creek Park in Flower Mound. He had shown me pictures of the parks' pretty creek and rocks hidden away in the woods, months earlier. Of course me being me, I suggested we wait until the weekend, until it cooled off, on a day we didn't have to work, he disagreed. So that evening after work, I went home, where he was waiting and ready to go to the park. I changed my clothes and we headed off to Flower Mound. We arrived at the cute little park and started down the walking path, over a bridge and then into the woods. It was a little steep (very steep to me) with uneven ground, so I was a little apprehensive about making my way all the way down to the creek bed. Richard made his way down and was standing on the largest stone closest to the water. He tried to convince me to come join him, as I held on tight to a thin tree trunk, refusing, insisting I was going to slip and fall into the creek. After some persuasion and guilt, I grabbed his hand and he helped me down to the rock. I faced away from him for a moment to admire the beautiful scenery and as I had my back turned, he said "I just have one thing I need to ask you." Facing away from him my eyes got as wide as saucers, I felt a little lightheaded and froze for a second. When I turned my visibly shaking self around, there he was holding the most perfect ring and said "will you marry me?" I said "are you for real right now" as I covered my mouth in shock and surprise. Holding his hand, as I'm shaking, getting more lightheaded, and excited; I eventually said "yes, of course." We hugged and kissed and then I said "now get me off this rock before I faint and fall into the creek!"
