Will and I met in September 2014, I had just graduated from college, moved back home and was working in a physical therapy department. Will had broken his ankle in a pick up softball game, undergone surgery and began his journey of healing in physical therapy. We met and everyone could feel the attraction. After a couple months, several appointments, bad jokes, and witty banter we went out on our first date!
Our first date was at Houlihan’s. Will had come to pick me up and I ran out before he even had a chance to come to the door. Will had mentioned he wanted to come up and get me but being the youngest girl of five siblings I was not letting that happen. We ate dinner where we truly got to know each other and the date flew by. Once we knew each other’s quick wit matched, the awkwardness was out the window and we could enjoy our dinner. Before the dinner was over we already had plans for the following day!
It was Thanksgiving 2019 and we had just celebrated our four year anniversary of dating. We were celebrating Thanksgiving at my house with my family, Will had just arrived from the picking up my brother from the airport. Will had come in the house and started peeling potatoes like a mad man! (Now obvious it was nervous energy!) The whole family was hanging out in the kitchen enjoying some appetizers and speciality drink, cranberry Moscow mules. Will asked my sister to take a picture of the two of us. There we are in the kitchen having our picture taken with my whole family starring at us. My sister secretly began recording, before I knew it Will was down on one knee asking me to marry him. The box lit up with a light shining down on this gorgeous ring, and I was totally shocked. We had talked about our engagement and I always told him I would know when it was coming, however I could not have been more surprised. I said yes and we popped champagne. It was the most perfect proposal!
