Katie and Hunter were first introduced by the Maid of Honor during their senior year of high school. While Hunter wanted to date, Katie said long-distance would never work. Hunter was moving to Pittsburgh to attend Duquesne University and she was staying in Orlando to go to the University of Central Florida, so they parted ways and stayed friends. Oh, how wrong she was. Three years later, they reconnected while Katie went on a business trip to Pittsburgh, and decided they could try a long-distance relationship. After some time, Hunter somehow managed to convince Katie to leave the Sunshine State and move to Pennsylvania, where they currently live with their two adorable puppies.
After eating at their favorite restaurant, Taco Lu, Hunter and Katie drove to Jacksonville Beach, where Hunter dropped down to one knee, nervous as can be, and asked Katie to be his wife. She happily accepted and they were swiftly taken to the surprise engagement party Hutner (and Mrs. Rice) planned in Orlando at Katie's parents' house, where they celebrated their love with friends and family.
