This is one of our favorite hikes in the area. It is about 2 miles total and has breathtaking views at the top. In the summer, there are cattle roaming around and grazing at the top so watch where you step! This is about a 30 minute drive from Asheville. Note: After the hike, we recommend stopping at the nearby Souther Williams Winery (655 Hoopers Creek Rd, Fletcher, NC 28732). It's only a few minutes drive from the trailhead and has beautiful views, tasty wine, snacks, and often time has live music. It's a nice treat after the hike.
This is a great moderate 2.7 mile hike with 3 waterfalls that are beautiful. This is about an hour from Asheville. This hike can get very busy so we recommend going earlier in the day.
The views on the Blue Ridge Parkway are breathtaking! We recommended heading west from Asheville until at least The Pisgah Inn. There are several pull-offs to park and take photos. NOTE: this may not be open due to damage from Hurricane Helene
The historic Biltmore is a staple of Asheville. The grounds, gardens, and the Biltmore house are beautiful and full of interesting history. They also have a winery and several restaurants on the property. Note: check their website for pricing for a day pass
This is one of our favorite breweries. It is on a gorgeous property with an outdoor amphitheater. It is right next to Asheville Airport so if you have some time on arrival/departure, we highly recommend checking this out.
This is our favorite brewery in downtown Asheville. There are lots of good photo opps at this brewery so keep your cameras out. This is located in the South Slope of Asheville and you can find many other excellent breweries within a couple blocks of Burial. We highly recommend everyone check out South Slope area!
The River Arts Distract (RAD) is one of our favorite places in Asheville. There are several art studios, restaurants, breweries, etc in the area and it's very funky and eclectic. Breweries include RAD Brewing, The Wedge Brewing, and Hi-Wire Brewing. NOTE: This area was completely devastated by Hurricane Helene and is still rebuilding. They would love any visitors!
This is our favorite spot to get burgers in all of Asheville. It is in the River Arts District. While you eat, you can check out all the nearby cool graffiti.
This restaurant has THE BEST Indian food we've ever tried! 10/10 delicious and flavorful, we cannot recommend it enough. It is a very popular spot, so plan on waiting in line. Luckily, you will be surrounded by breweries so you can go get a beer while you wait for the text message saying that your table is ready! This is actually in the same block of buildings as the welcome party on Friday night, feel free to put your name on the list for a table and then come hang with the bride and groom next door until your table is ready!
White Duck Taco is a chain in this region but the tacos are delicious. We definitely recommend trying their tacos if you haven't tried them before!
This is a very unique book store/bar that specializes in champagne and small bites. They also have an outdoor patio where you can usually find live music. The drinks are amazing, the food is delicious, and the atmosphere is very charming. We highly recommend checking it out, it is one of our favorite spots!
This is the location of our wedding. If anyone would like to arrive to the venue early (or go on a different day), there will be plenty to do/see. The brewery property is awesome and has sand volleyball courts, disc-golf throughout the property, and an outdoor meadow with a stage (which usually has a live band). They also have multiple food trucks and often times have outdoor markets selling local goods.
