If Traveling by air, Hermosillo has daily non-stop flights from Phoenix, AZ and Dallas, TX.
Hermosillo is about a 4 hr drive from Tucson, AZ. The drive will require about 3 hrs. of driving in Mexico on the international highway 15D. You will encounter 3 toll booths each way along the fastest route and they will require payment in Mexican currency. The fares at each booth will be $56 pesos (about 3 dollars USD), $30 pesos (about 2 dollars USD), and $93 pesos (about 5 dollars USD). It will be necessary to exchange currency in Nogales, AZ before crossing into Mexico. Expect a longer trip back since border crossing can vary between 45 min to 2 hrs.
