We are getting Married!

With changing life circumstances, we’ve decided to postpone our wedding for the time being. We truly appreciate everyone’s love, support, and understanding, and we’ll share updates when we’re ready.

Believe it or not, it started with a "swipe" on a dating app. Ricky was living in Georgia at the time and Ellisa was in Jacksonville, FL. Ricky and Ellisa quickly hit it off with texting and phone calls. Within a week of talking, Ricky drove down to help Ellisa move apartments- a bold (and very helpful) first meeting. After that first day together hauling furniture and talking, the night ended with a sushi date and the feeling that something about this was special. In no time, conversations and weekends together affirmed that God had orchestrated bringing them together. It was so fun and exciting to find compatibility on everything from faith, to goals, hobbies, and habits. The saying "when you know, you know" is so true, and they quickly knew everything they needed to know to officially be "boyfriend and girlfriend." Ricky had arranged a very sweet beach surprise to make things official on July 4th (hence the chosen wedding date). They spent an amazing summer together, going on adventures around Florida, eventually meeting each other's families and discovering all the ways the puzzle pieces fit. September came, bringing Ricky's time in Georgia to an end, and long distance began between California and Florida. The time difference, miles, and busy lives only strengthened their relationship and made every moment together feel so much more significant. On November 14th, Ellisa and her friend were doing a "casual photoshoot," when someone touched Ellisa's arm...it was Ricky, who had surprised her with not only a visit, but a ring and a question. It was the best moment of their lives, and the easiest decision to make. --- 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 has been a guiding Bible passage for us. We're so excited to share our commitment to that kind of love with our friends and family. Thank you for being part of our story. R+E
