It all started in a little old town called Victory Gardens. When I was in elementary school, I was best friends with Ricky's twin sister Janel. We all rode the bus together to school until Ricky and his family moved to Hopatcong. As time passed we lost connection, years later Janel and I reconnected after graduating high school. We reminisced about old times and shared many memories that were once forgotten due to how young we were and started to get close again. Janel invited my friends and I to their birthday party at Casa Puerto Rico where Ricky was djing and still had no idea that Janel and I had rekindled. Ricky approached me with no recollection of our past and re introduced himself. I ended up adding Ricky on snapchat and we spoke nonstop since. We later discovered that we were each others first kiss and we used to sit next to each other on the bus and sneak kisses under a jacket. Who would've known that our first kiss would end up being our last kiss.
On our 3rd anniversary, in the height of covid, what i thought was going to be a regular dinner at home turned out to be so much more. Ricky secretly set up a candlelit dinner on our balcony, made a delicious sangria and even ordered food from one of my favorite Portuguese restaurants in Elizabeth. I still had no idea what was about to happen as I thought we were just celebrating our anniversary until Ricky got down on one knee. He gave a beautiful speech, kept telling me how much he loved me, and asked me to marry him. I was so excited and in complete shock and of course I said "YES"! Everything was so beautiful and it all tasted delicious, it was the most romantic thing he's ever done for me, I couldn't imagine my life with anyone else. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with all of you! See you all soon
