Austin and I met for the first time in my sophomore year in college. He was a prospective music student who was touring North Campus with his mom. Myself and my good friends Andria, Jessica, and Danielle were in the main classroom when he came by on his tour. We introduced ourselves and asked where he was from. He said, of course, Lake in the Hills to which we all responded with “that’s not a town name that’s a sentence”. We talked about what it was like to be music students at QU and the music program and then sent him on his way to complete his tour. Now, neither Austin nor myself remembered this meeting until about a year into our relationship. We met again when he was a freshman on campus the following fall while helping the freshmen move in. We became best friends fast and before you knew it, Austin asked me out on a date. I met him as he got back onto campus after Thanksgiving break and he handed me a box of the peppermint sticks you can only get that time of year. You know, the big thick ones you’re supposed to stir coffee or hot chocolate with? I had told him they were my favorite candy! He came back with a small box and a note on the box that asked “will you go on a date with me”. And the rest is history! We cannot wait to celebrate with you all on our big day!
