Zurich is an AMAZING city and just a quick train ride away! There are tons of great restaurants, tours, shopping, etc to check out in Zurich!
Zurich's most exclusive and famous shopping destination!
Take a nice walk by Lake Zurich or a boat ride to see the sights!
This is where Oli proposed!! There is a restaurant at the top with an amazing view of Switzerland... it is also a great spot for a nice hike!
We have traveled here a few times- one of our favorite cities! This is also where we found our wedding rings! About an hour train ride from Zurich. Great place to walk around, see the capital of Switzerland! There is also a Bear Park where you can literally see a few bears hanging out! We recommend checking out the bears and then eating/having a few beers at Alte Tramdepot.
A cool place in the city of Bern where you can see a few bears hanging around outside!
Discover over 380 animal species in nature-like exhibits such as Australia, Masoala Rainforest and Kaeng Krachan Elephant Park and learn how to protect their natural habitats.
It's quite a long trip to Zermatt from Zurich, but it's worth it. Stay there for a night or two, enjoy the car free town or do a hike to see the wonderful landscape. Whatever you do you'll see the world famous Matterhorn yourself! It's incredible!
One of the nicest Fondue Places in Zurich. You can sit outside and have a great view over Limmat River and of the two iconic churches (St. Peter and Fraumünster).
Great authentic Mexian food. We dare you to eat their super spicy quesadillas.
The best view over all of Zurich! Take the train up and enjoy a drink or eat some tradintional Swiss food.
A great restaurant just a cab ride away from the Hasenstrick Hotel.
Ticino is in the italian part of Switzerland. It's italian influnces can be enjoyed in Lugano or Locarno. It's the sunniest Canton of Switzerland.
Murten, or Morat, is a medieval town on the southeast shore of Lake Murten. You can get to Murten by train from Zurich in just 2 hours! Or, if you decide to check out our favorite city Bern, Murten is only 35 minutes from there by train! It's defensive walls offer views of the lake and the decorated arcades of the old town. They are also famous for their Nidelkuchen which is AMAZING- it is like a cream cake! Head down to Aebersold bakery in Old Town and get a slice and after that play a round of mini golf right by the lake!
Another great city less than one hour away by train! Lucerne is known for it's preserved medieval architecture and sits amid snowcapped mountains on Lake Lucerne. Check out The Kapellbrüke AKA Chapel Bridge- it is a covered wooden footbridge spanning the river Reuss diagonally in the city. The bridge is unique in containing a number of interior paintings dating back to the 17th century. It is the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe, as well as the world's oldest surviving truss bridge.
Rapperswil-Jona AKA the town of roses (Let's go Lakers), is located on the upper end of Lake Zurich. We love coming here by boat from Zurich- we highly suggest this route, it is beautiful! There is an amazing castle that towers above the town and lake and is the landmark. The castle hill affords a panorama view from the Glarus Alps all the way to the Zurich Oberland. The town is also very cute and has lots to do!
We recently visited the House of Läderach and it was AMAZING! You can do a self tour and also make your own Swiss Chocolate! You can get there via the train as well :)
