In my phone we have two anniversaries. It was the end of August, classes were over and both Devin and I were moving out of our Villanova apartments. Devin had come over and we were deciding what to do after our summer spent dating. When Devin asked me if we wanted to keep seeing each other - and I said yes - I figured we were dating/boyfriend/girlfriend - because who actually asks these days? Devin does - that's who. Not once but twice. Devin had moved to Washington, D.C. for an internship. It was my first weekend visiting him and while we were out and about he asked me to be his girlfriend. I was obviously taken by surprised because I had thought we had done this already. I told my mom this story - to which she was very angry with me stating she never would have let me go to a boys house had she known he was not my boyfriend. I responded - to be fair - it was news to me too!

We were in Nazare, Portugal on our way to dinner, when Devin really wanted a picture. This was weird to begin with. We were in the middle of the town square that is normally populated but of course it was empty. After some waiting, we finally find a woman who I am able to ask in my rudimentary Portuguese to take our picture. Devin then becomes an amatuer photographer and starts asking for the palm tree and building to be captured in the photo - in English. We finally get to take the photo and then Devin got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I'm able to studder our "are you serious" before we awkwardly kiss, get our phone back from the poor woman that didn't know what she said yes to and then run out of the square that was now populated with people. We then called our families and shared the amazing news before an amazing cliff side dinner overlooking the town and ocean. It was the perfect day! We can't wait to see you in New Hope to celebrate with us!
