My younger brother BJ is one of a kind & heaven sent. He has always been there for me & our family. I remember when we were kids living in Ghana, he made it to the junior soccer team at age of 12. The little money that he would earn from playing, he would split it with me. And what was left for him, he would use it all to buy groceries for our Gradma to cook for the entire family. BJ had to hustle from a young age & that is what made him tough. He has a big heart but at the same time , you don't wanna mess with him. Whats amazing to me, is that my brother BJ is 25 years of age plus tax & GST and is still crazy fit & able to run around & play soccer at a high level. I've had the opportunity to live with R&B & seeing it first hand , the love that they have for each other is unreal,SOULMATES

Susan who goes by Su is the brides "favorite cousin" from her dad's side of the family. She and the bride-to-be enjoyed many a summer as children laughing with & at the extended Pinto clan. Su and Ri share the Taurean sentiment but Su being on the cusp also has the Gemini wit, humor and intelligence! She is honored to be part of the bridal party and knows her little cousin and BJ are meant to be. Su describes Ri as brutally honest, true to herself, family and fun- loving and favorite cousin of all time (sorry Sam :))

Known BJ for 23 yrs & what stands out to me is how big of a heart he has. In 96, BJ was scouted by a Polish agent to play professional soccer in Europe. After couple of weeks, the feedback from BJ was very positive. Then one day, I ran into the same agent that sent BJ to Poland and he showed me a newspaper. I saw BJ's picture but the paper was written in Polish. So I asked the guy, what does it say? He said "A Canadian player ran away from his club". To summarize the story, Upon his arrival, the team was going to send a Nigerian player back. Being the person that BJ is, when he heard that, he promised the Nigerian player that he would leave the club and give him the chance to stay & play. Couple years later, mind u , we saw the same guy playing in the World Cup for Poland. Typical BJ !

I’ve known BJ for about 18 years . Growing up in Vancouver after moving from Ghana, I wasn’t sure how life was going to be. After always getting into trouble and running away from home, BJ was always there advising me to go home and do better but never really understood what I was going through until I actually felt comfortable enough to open up to him. He then took me under his wing and gave me advice that I so truly needed. He was always there for me and took me in when needed. I thank god that I met him when I did and I wouldn’t be where I am today with out him being in my life and helping me along the way. I have never seen BJ happier and just seeing that smile on his face, says it all ! I can’t wait to see them walk down the aisle and be a part of their special day.

Chillin with BJ for more than half our lives - we went from 97th street , Kangol hats to baggy khakis , sporting doo rags , and now half a mowhawk , but heh ! at least you have half your hair left unlike me ! Made our Hollywood acting debut together, catch us on screen of the 6th Man ! We went through hard knocks of life together, learned lessons and are still evolving for the better. The first thing that comes to mind when BJ's name comes up is a person who is very family oriented , loyal, caring & a person who loves with every fibre of his being. These are some of the easiest characteristics that stick out about BJ. Writing about BJ made me reflect on the profoundly positive impact he has had on me, I believe God had his reasons for bringing him into my life. BJ has been an anchor, a fountain of encouragement , a big brother & a great friend to me. Almost everyone who has come in contact with BJ has been affected by the magnetic aura he has.
