It is easily accessible via a paved road, offering free parking and basic, covered picnic shelters. Location is not near the ferry terminal needs to taxi or rent a car and drive over to the beach. It a lot of travel for a day but take advantage and try out the experience, worth the travel.
Luquillo Beach (Balneario La Monserrate), located in northeastern Puerto Rico, is a top-10, family-friendly destination known for its calm, reef-protected waters and scenic palm trees. The beach is located near the famous Luquillo kiosks known for local food you can go eat after a nice day at the beach. Our recommended restaurant at the kiosko is Terruno restaurant.

Piñones is a lively, rustic coastal area just 20 minutes from San Juan, renowned for its authentic local food, palm-fringed beaches, and 11-km coastal boardwalk. It is a popular,, crowded weekend spot for locals to enjoy bacalaitos, alcapurrias, and fried snacks, with popular, calmer swimming areas like La Posita and Vacía Talega, and busier, windier spots for, relaxing. Our recommendation is Vacia Talega Beach, less crowded and has enough space for parking. No food on the beach but might find someone selling icee. After the beach take a trip up into one of the restaurants near by, we recommend Olga or Iguana bar.

Can not go to Puerto Rico without trying OUR BREAD!!! Panaderia are local bread/ grocery like stores that are in every town. Each town makes the bread a little different, some slightly sweeter, some a bit more buttery, they should all be soft. This one we recommend near the venue for the Church ceremony. Ask for pan de agua. If you want a more sweeter slightly denser bread try pan sobao. As for it with butter or get it in a sandwich, whatever you in the mood for. This place also has good ice coffee or even hot.

If you are visiting Luquillo beach come visit this famous strip of bars and restaurants. Located near the main beach strip and access to the beach broad walk behind the restaurant. There is also some souvenir shops on the strip but they close early so get there early. Our number 1 recommendation to eat is Terruno restaurant. Other spots that are good is La Parilla or Jiaro.
