Maid of Honor
Katies little and much taller sister. She enjoys reading, anime(like literally, this girl has seen every episode of One Piece), and bringing the sass to every occasion. Molly began her undergrad at SDSU for nursing and is now transitioning to Sac State to pursue a degree in Public Health. While they may have fought in their younger years, they are now best friends, and she is the best dog aunt to our baby Ellie. We couldn't imagine having anyone else as the Maid of Honor on our big day!
Alex Kasai
Best Man
Rhys and Kasai met freshman year at UC Davis when they were pledging Sigma Chi together, and have been attached at the hip ever since they spontaneously started playing a game of tag like a couple of ten year old's in the middle of a college party. Between Legos, Smash Bros, D&D, and fantasy novels, they've spent inordinate amounts of time together and wouldn't have it any other way. We are lucky to have him taking part in our big day!
Jillian Campbell
Bridesmaid
Katie and Jillian met at a volunteer event (freshman/or sophomore year of high school) where they eventually ate a cake together, sharing spoons, and the rest, as they say, is history. Jillian now attends New Years with Katie's family every year and sometimes even Thanksgiving. Most of their time together is spent playing Mario Kart (you'd think with 10 years of practice, they'd be better at it by now), watching ridiculous movies, or attending concerts by Boy Bands; shoutout Backstreet Boys and the Jonas Brothers! We are excited to have her be a part of our big day!
Dane Affleck
Groomsman
Rhys' youngest (and also taller) brother! He's currently living up in Oregon, having recently graduated with an undergrad degree in Journalism and Media Studies. Rhys and Dane didn't always get along, but as adults, they are closer than ever. You can probably find him practicing his British accent or his Patrick Warburton impression when he's not gallivanting around the Beaver State. We are lucky to have him as a part of our party!
Teale Jones

Katie and Teale met in college when Katie transferred to Point Loma in her Junior Year. Between having the same major, most classes together, and working together, they quickly became best friends. Teale had all the study habits that Katie did not and became her go-to study buddy partner at all the little coffee shops around San Diego. After college, Teale went on to get her Doctorate in Occupational Therapy, and they have made time to visit each other in between all the crazy( Brew at the Zoo, wine tasting, etc.). Teale also gets married this year in St. Louis, and we can't wait to visit her and her fiance Donny in their new home!
Nathan Curry

Katie's littler, taller, and favorite brother. Nathan is in the Air Force and was stationed in Guam for the past two years, only recently moving bases to Idaho. Like Rhys, Nate enjoys playing board games and D&D in addition to rock climbing which are often his pastimes while on base. Don't be fooled by his comparatively quiet demeanor - he's likely just choosing his moment to drop a top-tier one-liner that will have everyone laughing. We couldn't be more excited to have him here with us on our big day!
Sonia Luiz

Katie and Sonia met before they could even talk. With their moms as best friends, they went camping and spent holidays together almost every year. Her family is seen as Katie's second family, and she will be taking part in Sonia's wedding in October of this year as well. We can't wait until we can continue these same traditions with Sonia, her fiance John and their own families one day, and are lucky to have her as a part of our special day!
Tanner Blank

Tanner and Rhys met in first grade, and have somehow managed to stay friends for what - 23 years? Tanner and Rhys have been best friends ever since - still playing games and pushing each other's buttons as adults. There's too much to cover in this blurb (sleepovers, lacrosse, 3D animation "club", police run-ins), but there's no doubt there are still more memories (read: mistakes) to be made in their future (and I wouldn't have it any other way)!
Abigail Kinser

Katie and Abby, like Sonia, have also been friends since childhood. Taking part in the camping trips every year until she moved away, and sometimes even after! While the boys of the family friend group obsessed over Legos, Star Wars, and Bionicles, the girls obsessed over Justin Bieber, Teddy Bear Tea, and also Star Wars. Abby lives in Colorado now but still comes to visit during birthdays and holidays and is usually found cackling about something along with Sonia and Sonia's little sister Julia. Something I'm certain we can count on, on our big day.
Nick Hosman

Much like Sonia and Abby, Nick has been an integral part of Katie's life for as long as she can remember! Nick was always a part of the annual camping trips and holiday parties, and it was at one of these parties where Rhys and Nick were introduced- and they instantly became friends, bonding over their love for the niche musical genre of electro-swing! It's easy to become fast friends with Nick due to his easy-going and thoughtful personality. Personally, we love Nick because he gets drunk off froses with us to play Just Dance on a random Wednesday night, he's a great dog uncle, and was a great roommate to have at the height of the pandemic. We are lucky to have him take part in our big day!
Iris Mendoza

Katie and Iris met a few years ago while working at the same Preschool together and have pretty much been inseparable ever since. They have tried to schedule girls' night with their friends almost every Friday since they've met, with brunches, porch swing nights, and hiking days in between. Iris is the best cook and is always willing to cook Katie and Rhys a traditional Mexican meal (if only she would write her recipes down so we could replicate them!). She has three beautiful young girls that we love and truly are great at choosing Christmas gifts for Rhys! She's been a great help to us in the wedding planning process and we are lucky to have her as part of our wedding party.
Alex Townsend

Alex and Rhys met in the Sigma Chi fraternity at UC Davis, and through the power of "Beer and Chairs" forged a grand friendship. Alex actually got Rhys his first job out of college - which had nothing to do with his major, and ultimately the company went under, and was pretty much a hot mess - but they turned that experience into an opportunity when they started SigX Solutions together! You will usually find them in their favorite ritual - sitting in chairs and drinking beer - while coming up with slightly genius and extremely ridiculous movie scripts/business ideas.
Shelby Anenson

Katie and Shelby also met at Point Loma and got to know each other better through classes and leadership groups on campus. After college, they got even closer when Shelby moved back home to Lodi, and Katie moved to Sacramento. Katie was a bridesmaid in Shelby's wedding in 2020 and is now an Auntie to little baby Scoots. Shelby and her husband Erik are some of our favorite people to double date and visit breweries with whenever we find time between all of our hectic schedules. Shelby is expecting again this year, and we cannot wait to see her become a momma of two under two!
Connor Jaramillo

Connor and Rhys met in 3rd grade when Connor moved to the same elementary school as Rhys and Tanner (Painted Rock Panthers for lyfe) and quickly became friends with both. Connor was often the voice of reason in the room (and often overruled - usually to the group's collective detriment). They've grown up a bit since age ten, but their friendship is as strong as ever. Rhys and Connor will still regularly make time to play video games together despite the 3 hour time difference between the East and West coasts.
Daphne Andrews

Katie and Daphne met and became instant friends when Katie attended Daphne's 19th birthday party during summer break. After the break, Daphne went back to Pepperdine, and Katie began school at Point Loma; while they chatted occasionally, they didn't really get close until after they had graduated college. Once back in Folsom, however, they quickly became gym buddies and had a brief tradition of Target wine and chill nights Wednesdays after the gym #balance. Since then, they have traveled to Switzerland, Italy, Germany, and Spain together(where Daphne learned to ride a bike!-sorta). For the last year, though, Daphne has been living in the Netherlands for a grad program, so we couldn't be more excited to have her here with us on our big day!
Tyler Welsh

Tyler and Rhys met in middle school and really grew close throughout high school and into college. They have a shared love of testing boundaries in both themselves and others that pushed them to grow...but more often just got them into trouble. You could find them playing Cranium with friends, going on midnight hotel adventures, or playing a "relaxing" game of Mario Party. Now that Tyler is living in Ireland, the time difference can be a difficult hurdle, but they still make an effort to talk over discord, and visit when they can! Besides, it seems they may have a knack for serendipitous encounters in other countries!
