We're getting married!

We met during the summer of 2014. We had both finished our first year of university and were working in a contact lenses warehouse: Emily through her usual high work ethic and determination, Rhys through pure nepotism. After a couple of weeks of awkwardly striking up conversation over the packing table, Rhys finally asked Emily out on a date. She said yes and the rest is history...

In the nearly 11 years we've been together, we have done a fair bit of travelling! After graduating from university, we decided to give the "land of the long white cloud" a visit and headed to New Zealand! We spent around 8 months living in and exploring this beautiful country and really developed a taste for travelling. Since then, we have undergone a number of flights of varying lengths, most recently travelling to Vietnam for three weeks in October 2024 and planning to honeymoon in Tanzania!

We've lived together continuously since May 2018. Originally we rented a beautiful flat in York city centre with Minster views (if you carefully leaned a little off the balcony)! After two and a half happy years and a pandemic there, we decided to get on the property ladder and bought our first house in Dringhouses, York. In May 2021, we welcomed our first four legged baby, Eden, into our lives and she's been the centre of it ever since! A lot of work has been done on the house and garden so far, with a single story extension adding a great space for us to entertain family and friends!

On 16th November 2024, on a glorious sunny day on Filey beach, Rhys finally asked Emily to marry him! Filey has always been a special place for us, being the destination of our annual Christmas Eve beach walk in recent times. We both love the views of Flamborough Head and the Brigg and watching Eden chase the birds like a loon!
