Rholanda and Darryn first met at a Homecoming event at Winston Salem State University. Rholanda attended North Carolina A&T but was present at numerous Winston Salem events because she had friends who attended Winston. They were both at the club where Monica & Wale were performing. They didn't know each other but had a mutual friend in common. When the event was over Darryn approached Rholanda and asked for her number. Rholanda wasn’t too fond of “North Carolina boys” but something about Darryn captured her attention. Darryn showed her his “Southern Hospitality” that led to many dates, trips, and years of memories. In 2016, Darryn decided to host a birthday trip to Atlanta with family and friends but little did they know Darryn had something special up his sleeve. Darryn hosted a dinner at an upscale restaurant. With love and laughter all around he shocked everyone by proposing to Rholanda on his birthday weekend! Overwhelmed with joy and excitement of course she said “YES”! Now it’s 2024 and the special day is finally coming. They are thrilled to celebrate such a joyous occasion with all of you at their wedding on August 10th.
